Embark on an unforgettable journey with our 2-day, 1-night Inca Trail trek and immerse yourself in the majesty of one of the most legendary trails in the world! This tour has been designed for those adventurers who wish to experience the grandeur of the Inca Trail in a relatively short time without missing out on the essence of this extraordinary historic route. In just two days, you will have the opportunity to explore breathtaking landscapes, discover ancient ruins and reach the iconic Machu Picchu, all while enjoying the comfort of top-quality service.

Day 1: First day Km 104 - Aguas Calientes

Today begins an extraordinary experience, as we begin our exciting journey along the short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. We will begin our journey with a transfer from your hotel, scheduled according to your train schedule. Our first stop will be Ollantaytambo station, from where we will take the train to kilometer 104, also known as Chachabamba (2,200 m / 7,218 ft). The train ride to kilometer 104 takes approximately one and a half hours.

Upon arriving at kilometer 104 (2,200 m / 7,218 ft), we will begin our hike. It is important to note that at the checkpoint you will be required to present your identification documents, such as passport, foreigner's card or identity card. Just 15 minutes after starting the hike, we will visit the archaeological site of Chachabamba, which is located in the middle of a lush semi-tropical forest.

We will continue ascending Inca stairs surrounded by vibrant vegetation. Along the way, we will be able to admire a majestic waterfall and a variety of beautiful orchids. After approximately 4 hours of hiking, we will reach Wiñaywayna (2,650 m / 8,694 ft), one of the most impressive archaeological sites on the Inca Trail. We will enjoy this place for about an hour and then we will recover with a box lunch.

After a well-deserved rest at Wiñaywayna (2,680 m / 8,792 ft), we will continue our hike for about 2 more hours, ascending stone stairs until we reach Inti Punku, the "Sun Gate" (2,720 m / 8,924 ft). This point used to be the access control to the citadel of Machu Picchu and offers one of the most spectacular views of the trail. From Inti Punku, we will enjoy an impressive panoramic view of Machu Picchu and the surrounding tropical valley.

Finally, we will descend for approximately 30 minutes until we reach the majestic Machu Picchu (2,490 m / 8,169 ft), where we will be able to appreciate this wonder of the world. Afterwards, we will take a bus to the village of Machu Picchu, also known as Aguas Calientes (2,160 m / 7,087 ft), with a journey that takes about 25 minutes. There, we will spend the night in a comfortable three-star hotel.

Day 2: Second day Machu Picchu

Today we will explore the majestic Machu Picchu. We will start the day with an early breakfast and prepare for the final hike of the short Inca Trail. First, we will take a bus that will take us to the main entrance of Machu Picchu. Once there, we will enjoy a 2-hour guided tour with our expert guide along circuit 5. During this tour, we will discover important areas such as Qollpas, the Agricultural Zone, the Water Canal, the Dry Moat, the Temple of the Sun, the House of the Inca, the Water Fountains, the Set of the Three Gates, the Pisonay Plaza and the Archaeological Reserve.

After the guided tour, if you have reserved your tickets in advance, you will have the opportunity to climb Huayna Picchu, Huchuy Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain. Remember that to live this experience, you must make sure to book your tickets at least 6 months in advance.

To conclude our adventure, we will return to the town of Aguas Calientes to take the train to Ollantaytambo. From there, we will board a private van that will take us back to Cusco, ending our exciting journey along the Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
