Summary Itinerary ¿Qué Incluye? Agreement policy

Our Inca Jungle tour is a multifaceted adventure that offers a dynamic and exciting experience for nature and adrenaline lovers. This trek stands out for its combination of extreme activities and cultural exploration in an environment of incredible natural beauty. Unlike traditional Inca trails, the Inca Jungle incorporates elements of biking, rafting and hiking, all while immersing yourself in the rich biodiversity of the rainforest and mountainous landscapes.

The tour begins in Cusco, a historic city with a rich cultural heritage that serves as the starting point for this adventure. From there, you will travel by vehicle on a 3 hour and 30 minute trip to the starting point for the first activity (cycling). The initial bike ride takes you down from the heights of the Andes into the jungle region, offering panoramic views and a sense of freedom as you face exciting descents. The river you cross during the rafting and the hikes that follow allow you to experience the varied flora and fauna, as well as the culture of the local communities. Finally, the culmination of the trek at Machu Picchu offers you a unique perspective on Inca history and the natural environment you have explored, making this an unforgettable experience full of contrasts and discoveries.

Day 1: First day Cusco - Santa María

Your journey on our Inca Jungle tour to Machu Picchu begins with pick-up at your hotel by our guide and private transportation around 5:30 a.m. (the exact time will be confirmed at the briefing one or two days before the start of the tour).

After a drive of 3 hours and 30 minutes, we will arrive at the highest point of the tour, the Malaga pass, located at 4,350 meters above sea level (14,271 feet). Around 10:00 a.m., you will begin the first activity: an exciting downhill bike ride that will last approximately 3 hours. During this stage, you will cross picturesque villages, extensive agricultural fields and several rivers, ending in Huamanmarca, where you will enjoy lunch and a short rest. The cycling adventure will conclude at this interesting archaeological site.

After lunch, we will return to the van and continue our ride for about 45 minutes until we reach the charming village of Santa Maria. There, you will experience an exciting canoeing session on the Vilcanota River, which will last for approximately 2 hours, navigating class III and IV rapids under the supervision of a specialized kayak guide. Finally, we will spend the night in Santa Maria.

Day 2: Second day Santa María - Santa Teresa

After a delicious breakfast, the second day of the Inca Jungle trail begins with an exciting hike to Santa Teresa. On this morning stage, you will connect with nature and history. During the first 2 hours, you will climb gradually, with breaks to admire and learn about the beautiful local flora and fauna.

At one of the stops, you will rest for 20 minutes at a family home, where you can enjoy local fruits and refuel with water. Then, you will continue along a stretch of the ancient Inca Trail, which linked Vilcabamba to Machu Picchu. Our guide will tell you about the fascinating history of the Incas and their advanced communication system, while you enjoy the views of the Huancarccasa canyon.

You will descend to Quellomayo, where a hearty lunch and time to relax in hammocks awaits you. Afterwards, you will continue walking for another 2 hours to the hot springs of Cocalmayo, where you can enjoy its medicinal properties. Finally, we will make a short drive to Santa Teresa, where we will spend the night.

Day 3: Third day Santa teresa - Aguas Calientes

On the third day of the Inca Jungle trek, your morning will be full of excitement with a thrilling zipline descent through the impressive jungle landscape. Then, we will resume our trek, enjoying the views and taking a short break before descending to the "Hidroeléctrica" checkpoint, where lunch awaits us.

Afterwards, we will continue along the train tracks for about 3 hours, marveling at spectacular scenery, coca fields and local crops, until we reach Machu Picchu Pueblo, also known as "Aguas Calientes". There we will stay in a three-star hotel.

In the evening, we will meet at a tourist restaurant to enjoy a delicious dinner. You will take this opportunity to plan your visit to Machu Picchu with your assigned guide while enjoying the enchanting atmosphere of the place.

Day 4: Fourth day Machu Picchu - Cusco

The last day of the Inca Jungle trail will start very early so that you can make the most of your visit to Machu Picchu. After breakfast, you will take one of the first buses to the entrance of the Inca citadel.

Your guide will lead you through Machu Picchu, telling you the history of the lost city of the Incas and showing you the most emblematic places, such as the Classic Viewpoint of Machu Picchu, the Guardian's House with its spectacular view of the citadel, the Viewpoint of the Temple of the Sun, the Temple Square, the Sacred Rock and the Water Mirrors Complex.

At the end of the visit to this wonder of the world, you will descend to the town of Aguas Calientes.

Afterwards, you will return by train to Ollantaytambo and, from there, you will take our private transportation back to your accommodation in Cusco.
