We will start our tour to Huchuy Qosqo by picking you up at your hotel to head to Tambomachay, where we will begin our uphill hike. During this trek, we will reach a first lookout point that will offer panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and Andean biodiversity, including birds and camelids that inhabit the region.
After enjoying a revitalizing lunch, we will continue our journey to the community of Quenko, passing by the picturesque Qoriccocha Lake. After approximately two hours of walking, we will arrive at this warm community, where we will be greeted with genuine hospitality. You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the authenticity of the Andean lifestyle and experience their traditions up close.
At the end of the day, we will enjoy a dinner prepared by our chef, giving you the opportunity to reflect on this memorable journey that will become an unforgettable experience within your journey in the city of Cusco.
We will begin the day in Quenqo, appreciating the experience of cultural exchange and taking the opportunity to shop for local products. Afterwards, we will start a walk of approximately 2 hours and a half towards Huchuy Qosqo, Peru.
During the walk, we will spot an adobe Inca portal in the distance, which will signal the entrance to Huchuy Qosqo, also known as “Little Cusco”. Together with our guide, we will explore the ancient Inca buildings, temples, warehouses and agricultural terraces. Afterwards, you will have free time to rest and explore the site at your own pace.
In the afternoon, we will say goodbye to Huchuy Qosqo to begin a hike of about 1.5 hours to Lamay. There, our transportation will take us to Ollantaytambo station, where we will board the train that will take us to Aguas Calientes. Once there, you will be able to relax and recharge your batteries in preparation for our exciting visit to Machu Picchu.
On the last day of our Huchuy Qosqo tour, we will start with a delicious breakfast at our hotel to be among the first to board the buses that will take us to Machu Picchu. Remember that access to these buses is on a first-come, first-served basis. From the control entrance to the citadel of Machu Picchu, you will enjoy the sunrise and the breathtaking views of the mountains that surround this wonder of the world.
Our guide will lead you through Machu Picchu, revealing the fascinating history of the lost city of the Incas, its temples, altars and main points of interest, such as the iconic Mirador of Machu Picchu, the Guardian's House, which offers spectacular views of the entire citadel. You will also visit the Mirador of the Temple of the Sun, the Plaza of the Temples, the Sacred Rock and the Set of Water Mirrors.
