Get ready to live an epic adventure with our Salkantay Trek! This exciting 4-day, 3-night trek will take you through breathtaking landscapes and immerse you in the cultural and natural richness of Peru.

Begin your journey in the heart of the Andes with the majesty of the imposing Nevado Salkantay as your backdrop. Our trek will take you through a variety of ecosystems, from lush jungles to arid mountain landscapes, as you cross the challenging Salkantay Pass at 4,600 meters above sea level. The route offers unparalleled panoramic views and opportunities to discover the unique flora and fauna of the region.

Day 1: First day SORAYPAMPA- SUYROCCOCHA

We will start our trek early in Cusco, where a private transport will pick you up directly at the door of your hotel around 4:00 a.m. We will embark on a journey of approximately 3 hours to Mollepata (2,900 meters / 9,514 feet), the starting point of the Salkantay Valley. After enjoying a delicious breakfast in Mollepata, we will head to Soraypampa, the place where we will begin our trek.

From Soraypampa, we will embark on our route, walking for approximately 2 hours until we reach Salkantaypampa (4,100 meters / 13,451 feet), where we will stop for lunch overlooking the majestic Salkantay Mountain. After a brief rest, we will continue our trek to our campsite at Suyroccocha (4,600 meters / 14,336 feet). In the evening, settled at the foot of the imposing Salkantay, which rises to 6,271 meters / 20,574 feet, we can enjoy a possible shooting star show, weather permitting.

Day 2: Second day SUYROCCOCHA - ABRA SALKANTAY- HUAYRACMACHAY - COLLPAPAMPA

To begin our day, we will start with a succulent early breakfast before embarking on the ascent to the highest point of our trek: the Abra Salkantay, at 4,650 meters (15,255 feet) above sea level. This ascent, which will take about 1 to 2 hours, will reward us with spectacular views, surrounded by towering snow-capped mountains and a breathtaking panorama of the valley below.

As we descend, we will experience a remarkable transformation in the ecosystems. Initially, we will find ourselves in an alpine landscape, but as we advance, the vegetation will start to become denser. If we are lucky, we will be able to observe local birds and mammals during our hike. Lunch will be served in the community of Huayraqmachay.

After enjoying lunch, we will continue our descent and notice a change in the weather as we enter the lush forest. Here, the vegetation thickens and wildlife becomes more visible. After approximately 4 hours of hiking, we will arrive at our overnight camp at Collpapampa, at an altitude of 2,920 meters (9,580 feet). In this area, the climate becomes more tropical and you will be able to admire a variety of flora and fauna in their natural environment.

Day 3: Third day COLLPAPAMPA - SAHUAYACO - HIDROELÉCTRICA- AGUAS CALIENTES

Today, we will begin our descent from Collpapampa (2,920 meters / 9,580 feet) to Sahuayaco beach (2,064 meters / 6,771 feet). This fascinating hike will take us through the vibrant vegetation of the high Andean jungle and through cultivated land, where we will see banana, coffee, avocado and cacao plantations in their splendor.

After enjoying a delicious lunch in Sahuayaco, 2,064 meters (6,771 feet) above sea level, we will take a short drive to the hydroelectric station. From there, we will continue on foot to Aguas Calientes, which is at 2,050 meters (6,725 feet). This additional hike will take about 3 hours, although you also have the option of taking a short train ride for an additional cost if you prefer not to hike. (Remember that it is advisable to book this train ride at least one day in advance).

Once in Aguas Calientes, we will head to our hotel to settle in and freshen up before gathering for a comforting dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 4: Fourth day MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO

This day represents the climax of our adventure, as we will explore one of the wonders of the world: the impressive citadel of Machu Picchu. We will start early, waking up at dawn to enjoy an energetic breakfast before taking the bus that will take us directly to Machu Picchu. If we are lucky, we will be able to welcome the first rays of the sun and be among the first to tour the Inca citadel, avoiding the crowds.

For approximately two hours, a specialized guide will lead us through the main attractions of the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. Among the highlights are the area of the Qolqas, the agricultural areas, the set of the three gates, the Temple of the Sun and the residence of the Inca.

After this enriching visit, we will return to Aguas Calientes to enjoy a well-deserved lunch and relax before boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo.

Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo, private transportation will take us back to Cusco, where we will be dropped off at our hotel, concluding this unforgettable trek full of discoveries and wonders.

Note: If you have purchased tickets for optional activities such as the ascent to Huayna Picchu, Huchuy Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain, you will have the opportunity to visit these emblematic places.
